Description
Thelcticopis severa – Green Huntsman Spider
Thelcticopis severa is a striking huntsman spider native to Southeast Asia, prized for its vivid green coloration and fascinating web-building behavior. Unlike most huntsmans, the Green Huntsman constructs beautiful web curtains and hammocks suspended inside large curled leaves — a captivating display of natural architecture that makes this species a standout in any bioactive or naturalistic enclosure.
We highly recommend adding hanging magnolia leaves or similarly large, curled leaves to their setup. These spiders will quickly claim a leaf as their own, spinning a silken retreat inside that doubles as both a hide and a hunting platform. Watching them construct and inhabit these leaf hammocks is one of the most rewarding behaviors in the hobby.
Fast, alert, and visually stunning — the Green Huntsman is an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced keepers who want something truly different on their shelf.
