Unlike its fossorial earth tiger relatives, this species leans arboreal — a tree spider that will utilize vertical space, cork bark, and elevated hides. Provide a tall enclosure with anchor points and watch it claim its territory from above. As with all Old World species, the Purple Blaze is fast, defensive, and unforgiving of mistakes. This is not a beginner animal. It is, however, one of the most rewarding display species you can own — a spider that earns every inch of the space it commands.
