Bites can result in intense localized pain, muscle cramping, and other symptoms requiring medical attention. Due to its massive size, bites can be particularly severe.
Care Requirements
This terrestrial burrowing species thrives in a large enclosure with deep substrate (8-10 inches) for extensive burrowing, a hide, moderate to high humidity (70-80%), and warm temperatures (75-85°F). Provide a water dish and maintain consistent moisture levels to support its burrowing behavior.
⚠️ Advanced Species Only: Due to massive size, potent venom, aggressive defensive behavior, and speed, this species is recommended only for experienced keepers with extensive Old World tarantula experience.
