Terms of Service
By placing an order with Ty Dye Exotics, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please review these terms carefully before completing your purchase.

1. Shipping Policy
Shipping Schedule
- Standard shipping days:Â Monday through Wednesday
- Most orders ship the next available shipping day following purchase
- Specific shipping day requests may be noted at checkout; we will accommodate when possible or contact you regarding necessary adjustments
Tracking & Notifications
- Tracking information is automatically sent to the email address provided at checkout
- Customer Responsibility:Â You are responsible for monitoring your email (including spam/junk folders) for shipping updates and tracking details
Free Shipping Eligibility
- Retail orders:Â Orders over $500 qualify for free FedEx Hub Pickup (Overnight)
- Wholesale orders:Â Free shipping threshold is $1,500
- Exclusions:Â Free shipping does not apply to dry goods, which incur separate shipping fees (Spider-Boxx upgrades excluded)
Weather-Related Shipping Adjustments
To ensure the safety and well-being of live animals, we reserve the right to modify shipping methods or delay shipments based on weather conditions at origin or destination.
Shipping may be delayed if:
- Temperatures fall below 32°F (high) or 25°F (low)
- Temperatures exceed 100°F (high)
- There is a temperature differential of 40°F or greater between origin and destination
Local Pickup
Local pickup is available in Cleveland, Texas. No shipping charges apply to local pickup orders.
2. Live Arrival Guarantee (LAG)
Dead on Arrival (DOA) Claims
We stand behind the health of our animals. To file a DOA claim:
- Timeframe: Claims must be reported within 3 hours of delivery or pickup, based on your local time zone
- Contact: Email all claims to tydyeexotics@gmail.com
- Documentation:Â Photographic evidence may be required to verify claims
LAG Void Conditions
The Live Arrival Guarantee is void if a package is held for pickup (e.g., at a FedEx Hub) and is not picked up the same day it becomes available.
LAG Replacements & Resolution
- Replacements are issued at our discretion based on current inventory availability
- If a replacement cannot be sent, store credit will be issued
- Tracking information for replacements will be sent to the email provided at checkout
Important:Â Freebies are not covered under the Live Arrival Guarantee.
3. Product Information
Animal Sizing
- All listed animal sizes are approximate
- For spiders, size refers to diagonal legspan
- Animals may grow while in our care; listings may not always reflect updated sizes
- WIld Caught animals will often have minor imperfections, these imperfections do not qualify for replacements, refunds, or credits when received. We always state when we know if an animal is wild caught in the product options.
- We do not refund for minor imperfections (ie missing regenerative leg is the most common imperfection, but others may exist.) We consider minor imperfections to be anything that does not affect the overall health of the animal. Minor imperfections can occur for both wild caught and captive bred individuals.
- When a product variant is listed as Mixed Sizes, generally that means anywhere from juvenile to adult, and may also include mixed genders including mature males.

Wild-Caught Animals & Minor Imperfections
Wild-caught animals may exhibit minor physical imperfections that are inherent to their nature and life in the wild. These imperfections do not qualify for replacements, refunds, or store credits. Wild-caught status is always disclosed in the product listing when known.
Minor imperfections are defined as any physical characteristic that does not adversely affect the overall health, vitality, or longevity of the animal. The most common example is a missing regenerative appendage (such as a leg), though other minor imperfections may exist. Please note that minor imperfections may occur in both wild-caught and captive-bred individuals and are not grounds for a claim under our Live Arrival Guarantee or general return policy.
Mixed Size Listings
When a product variant is listed as "Mixed Sizes," this indicates that available specimens may range from juvenile to adult. Mixed size listings may also include individuals of mixed genders, which may include mature males. If you have specific size or gender preferences, please contact us prior to placing your order. We will make every effort to accommodate your request; however, we cannot guarantee availability of specific sizes or genders at the time of fulfillment.
Promotional Items (Freebies)
- One freebie per order (when available)
- Freebies must be manually added to your cart
- No Live Arrival Guarantee applies to freebies
4. Refunds, Cancellations & Store Credit
General Policy
- All sales are final
- Cancelled orders receive store credit by default
- DOA orders will be issued store credit by default
Refund Eligibility
Refunds are only issued if:
- The purchased item is out of stock and cannot be replaced (short-stocked)
- Extraordinary circumstances exist and are approved at our sole discretion
Processing Fee:Â Discretionary refunds incur a 6% processing fee (except in short-stock situations). Proof of extraordinary circumstances may be required.
Unclaimed Orders
If an item is ordered but not claimed (via delivery or local pickup) within 30 days, it will be returned to inventory. No refund will be issued; store credit will be provided.
5. Return Policy
We do not accept returns on any items, including but not limited to:
- Live animals
- Dry goods
- Enclosures and accessories
6. Legal Compliance & Liability
Age Requirement
You must be 18 years or older to purchase venomous invertebrates or reptiles. By placing an order, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
Customer Responsibility for Legal Compliance
You are solely responsible for:
- Knowing and complying with all local, state, and federal laws regarding the animals you order
- Obtaining any necessary permits or licenses required in your jurisdiction
Liability Disclaimer:Â Ty Dye Exotics is not liable for confiscated, seized, or refused shipments due to legal restrictions in your area.

8. Drop Shipped Products From The BioDude
Certain products available through our store are fulfilled and shipped directly by our partner, The Bio Dude. The following terms apply to all products drop shipped from The Bio Dude:
Problems with Your Order
Damaged, Missing or Incorrect Items:Â If your package contains incorrect items or any shorted products, please submit your claim within 48 hours of delivery to customercare@thebiodude.com or call (717) 305-0684.
Neither The Bio Dude nor Ty Dye Exotics LLC is RESPONSIBLE for packages sent to the wrong address as inputted by the customer.
Neither The Bio Dude nor Ty Dye Exotics LLC is RESPONSIBLE for stolen packages. It is your responsibility to ensure you receive your products in a timely manner.
Product Returns
Neither The Bio Dude nor Ty Dye Exotics LLC are unable to accept returns on Kages, vivarium electronics cages, substrates, live plants, Solar Grow fixtures and bulbs, UVB fixtures and bulbs, heat bulbs, and Mist King products.
Store credit may be issued, but no cash refunds are provided. We do not refund live animals for delays in shipping due to weather or other circumstances.
Defective Items: Customer care at The BioDude (customercare@thebiodude.com) must be contacted within 5 days of receiving the item. Claims after this window will be denied. The Bio Dude will provide a return label (if applicable) and offer a replacement, store credit or refund at the discretion of The Bio Dude. Refunds or credits are not provided until the item is returned.
Non-Defective Items: Customer care at The BioDude must be contacted within 5 days of receiving the item. Claims after this window will be denied. The customer is responsible for shipping the product back to The Bio Dude at the customer's cost. Upon product arrival and inspection, a credit or full refund will be returned via the payment method used with The Bio Dude. Refunds or credits are not provided until the item is returned.
9. Isopod Orders
Ty Dye Exotics is pleased to offer isopods as part of our catalog. All standard Terms of Service and Live Arrival Guarantee policies apply to isopod orders, with the following additional notes:
Trichorhina tomentosa (Dwarf White Isopod) is stocked and shipped directly by Ty Dye Exotics under our standard fulfillment process. No additional shipping fees apply.
All other isopod species are fulfilled and drop shipped by a third-party supplier. The following additional terms apply to those orders:
Shipping Fees
- A flat $45 shipping fee applies to all drop-shipped isopod orders
- This fee applies whether isopods are ordered alone or combined with other animals
- This fee is in addition to any standard shipping charges on the remainder of your order
Fulfillment & Timelines
- All shipping schedules, LAG claim windows, DOA procedures, and customer responsibilities are consistent with our standard Terms of Service (see Sections 1 and 2)
- Shipping days, weather-related delays, and tracking notification policies remain the same as all other orders
Live Arrival Guarantee
- Our standard LAG applies — claims must be reported within 3 hours of delivery to tydyeexotics@gmail.com with photographic documentation
- LAG is void if a package is held for pickup and not retrieved the same day it becomes available
- Freebies are not covered under the LAG
